Most cattle have some worms or gastro-intestinal nematodes in their digestive tract because it is practically impossible to keep cattle-young and old, and sheep completely worm free. There are many anthelmintic medicines available in the market for deworming cattle. Pilujibhai Umrabhai Vasava has come up with a herbal formulation for deworming cattle.
He soaks 100 gm each of the crushed leaves of Azadirachta indica A. Joss (neem), and Punica granatum L. (anar) in 400 ml of water for an hour. The resultant mixture is shaken well before use and given to the animal once a day for 2-3 days.
