Details |
"Women deal with food security and other concerns raised by climate variability and change by devis- ing short term and long term strategies. While short term strategies may be through small loans, resource pooling and exchange, small savings, etc, some of the strategies are long term and are conserved in the local knowledge systems often by means of traditional knowledge. The knowledge of women about edible and non edible uses of weeds in three villages of eastern Uttar Pradesh namely, Isoulibhari, Shivnathpur and Kharella, was documented in 2016-17. Later literature supporting the pharmacological uses was collected. The results were published in the World Development Journal. The following table is taken from Dey, A., Singh, G. and Gupta, A.K., 2018. Women and Climate Stress: Role Reversal from Beneficiaries to Expert Participants. World Development, 103, pp.336-359.
