Details "Gautham Nayak, gautham.mech@sahyadri.edu.in We are writing to you from the Centre for Social Innovation (CSI) at Sahyadri enthused to contribute to the social and economic prosperity of the nation through inclusive innovation. We would like to form a Honeybee Network In- novation Club at Sahyadri College of Engineering and Management. Our mission is to build a community of problem solvers and change-makers. Currently with the Social Innovation and Young Leadership Program running parallelly, the addition of Honeybee Network Innovation Club will introduce an inclusive platform for students aiming towards Social Entrepreneurship and community welfare. We would really like to take it forward here at Sahyadri. We believe that the initiation of the Honeybee Network Innovation Club would allow students to · Cultivate their interest in the socio-economic landscape and · Scout and document traditional practices and innovations through Mini-Shodhyatras. · Understand how to blend and bring to light the many rural innovations and innovators hidden in the communities thereby offering students the opportunity to serve them. · Hone their leadership qualities, creativity and capabilities by conducting demonstrations or community outreach programs. Sahyadri College of Engineering and Management (www.sahyadri.edu.in) is a premier technological institution lo- cated in Mangaluru, Dakshina Kannada district, Karnataka (Most happy to encourage you to set up hbn at your college. Encourage students to search, spread, and celebrate innovation and sense or scout the unmet social needs, rest will follow. Ed.) Thomas P. Tomich W.K. Kellogg Endowed Chair in Sustainable Food SystemsFounding U.C Davis, USA I am (somewhat slowly) shifting into sabbatical mode, which is a totally new experience for me. Tonight I completed the online form to register for the 45th Shodh Yatra 6-12 January in Himachal Pradesh. I am VERY excited and feeling very privileged to be able to participate! I reviewed all the guidelines, which seem very sensible. Please advise any particular things I might prepare to be able to contribute as much as possible to the shared experience. Thank you also for inviting me to the “Sattvik traditional food and organic agri festival”, which would be of great interest. What are the dates for that and where will it take place? (Most welcome Thomas, I am sure not just you will learn but other shodhyatris will also learn from your perspectives on creativity at grassroots. Chetan will organise your logistics. -Ed.) Fardeen Dodo School of Business and Entrepreneur- ship American University of Nigeria I am reaching out to inquire of a possible research collaboration with you. My most preferred alternative is to get PhD supervision from you, but I would also welcome research visit or other forms of research collaboration. Since my former School Dean, Prof. Vrajlal Sapovadia mentioned your work to me, I have been fascinated by it and integrate in in my teaching as well as research. Besides teaching under- graduate courses in entrepreneurship & social entrepreneurship, I organize social ventures and provide business development coaching to to women, youths, and small business owners in communities in post-conflict northeast Nigeria and parts of Cameroon. I am looking for an opportunity to do a PhD research at the nexus of entrepreneurship and the sustainable de- velopment goals. Currently, my idea is around explaining how institutional conditions favour the appropriation of entrepreneurial opportunities that deliv- er profound SDGs benefits in post-con- flict African communities. Your work with the HoneyBee Network provides a perfect case study to explore and learn from extensively. I am now looking for opportunities for PhD or some other research engagements that prepare me for an intensive research career. I would be very glad to discuss more about my work. (The HBN will be very happy to sup- port your research and you can look at the golden triangle of linking innovation, investment and enterprise which was the basis of setting up GIAN.org in 1997. -Ed.) Daniele Mezzana K&I, Rome (Italy) I am writing to you in the frame- work of a study on the “bottom-up governance innovation practices” that I am carrying out for the EU-funded TeRRItoria project (Horizon 2020 program: http://www.esf.org/our-ser- vices/european-projects-coordination/ ec-contracts/territoria/). I read with great interest several online websites and documents on Honey Bee Network, to be considered as a real good and inspiring practice! I found numerous and comprehensive information, except on one aspect: the obstacles that have been encountered in starting and implementing the network, and how they have been overcome. Could you kindly suggest me where I can find this information, or can you kindly give it to me directly? My book on grassroots innovation 2016 has a lot of information about failures and successes also pl see my blogs anilg.sristi. org will be very happy to answer specific questions. -Ed.) "
