Details Rachit Nerwal rachitnerwal29@gmail.com I am working as a software engineer for a CMMI Level 5 company in Noida. I have a deep interest in working in disaster management. I am pursuing an online course and I want to switch to this field. Sure. You can help us update sristi.org/dmis and, in particular, the preventive checklists -Ed. Pravesh Sharma pravesh.sharma@nic.in It was a pleasure to meet you at the Innovation Council meeting today; I am delighted to have finally met you and to explore the possibilities of collaboration between SFAC and NIF. As agreed at the meeting, we will draw upon your databank of agricultural innovations, duly vetted and translated into regional languages, and connect the same to KRISHIDOOT- our mobile based farmer advisory service/farm portal for farmer producer organisations (FPOs) under development. The SRISTI database of Honey Bee published practices will need to be translated into different languages. If you wish SRISTI can get it done at your cost or you can do it yourself. Kindly see the innovation database button at sristi.org and check the details. You have to also ensure that that these ideas need to be seen not only at artefactual level but also at metaphorical and heuristic level. –Ed. John J. Zahaitis john@zahaitis.com I have befriended an American in Uganda who has left the comforts of home to volunteer his technical expertise to those on the ground. We can probably get an app built and for free with his network of other technically minded people who are looking to similarly volunteer their capabilities. You can learn more about Johnny Long here: http://volunteer.hackersforcharity. org/about But maybe there are other things you might want to do, but never were able to because you were constrained for one reason or another. I want to make sure you understand that though this individual has their own concern in Africa, the initial request to him is whether we could do something for you. I greatly appreciate this offer of help. Let me request my colleagues to coordinate. -Ed. Jeevan Ajay ajay.jeevan@volvo.com I saw the video by Prof. Anil K Gupta in TED. We at Volvo India plan to set up our very own Innovation Lab facility and I think showcasing products like these would be really inspiring to our engineers. We would like to purchase a few of the products if possible. Please do let us know if this is possible and the way forward. A very interesting idea to build bridges between the formal and informal sectors. Who knows who benefits how much, but that both will benefit is beyond doubt. Let us get started soonest -Ed. Vishal Raje  vishal.raje18@gmail.com We are a team of writers and creative people working closely with the entertainment industry. We have been into theatres, script & serial writing. Currently we are planning a reality show based on inventions that could have a positive impact on our day-to-day lives. During our research, we came across your team and want to have a conversation regarding the same. Requesting you to please help us with the name and number of the contact person who could help us in the above endeavor. Please send us more detailed information about sponsors, people involved and other details before we can react. -Ed. Feeling inspired! Shanabhai S. Patel, Vadodara, Gujarat I am a Non-Resident Indian from London. I am in India nine months in a year. I own a factory that makes biscuits from various grains. I also have a chemical factory. I have been reading your newsletter for the last 3-4 years. I find many details that not only make me happy but also inspire me. I also make other friends read the newsletter. I would like you to also mention phone numbers of farmers who have thought of new practices. Thanks for the appreciation. We would be more pleased if you tell us how you would like to strengthen the movement. Wherever the innovator gives consent we have made the effort to mention his or her phone number. In any case, you can contact us and we can get you in touch with the innovator. -Ed.
