Title |
Value Addition in Grassroots Innovations: NIF |
|
|
Abstract |
To improve the market prospects for the innovators, National Innovation Foundation (NIF) primarily focuses on value addition through research and development, and creation of technological networks. Market analysis followed by on- field trials or in field-testing is conducted by the VARD (value addition and research and development) division. On completion of the primary assessment, the innovation is placed before the Research Advisory Committee (RAC) for their expert advice. Prototyping support is given in many cases where prima facie case appears to be strong even before these technologies are put up to RAC. |

Buttermilk and cow urine based formulations, alone and in combination were most effective in controlling the incidence of disease and also possessed growth promoter activities, producing a better yield, more flowering and fruiting. The formulations were also demonstrated with effective results at the fields of various farmers in Gandhinagar (Bikhaji Amrat Ji Darbar, Village Pipalj, Chawada Deelip Sinh Shankar Sinh, Village Ambod, Bhatti Vikram Sinh, village Balva, Mansa), Meerut (Mukesh Kumar, Village Nangala, Sateesh Kumar, Nangala, Sukhpal Singh, Pawali kurd) and Jaipur (Bhagawan Sahay, Village Kanwar Ka Bas, Harbagas Choudhary, Village kanwar Ka Bas, Gopiram Junjadiya, Kanwar Ka Bas, Lal Ram Dadarval, Village Dhankya).
The experiment of three herbal preparations (NIF-RS, NIF-AA & NIF- Poly Herbs) was also conducted in NIF’s research Farm to test bio efficacy on Eggplant pests during Kharif 2017. The highest control of the insect pest was observed from NIF- Poly Herbs treated plots. The tested herbal preparations were found effective in controlling the targeted pest (lacewing bug) and in improving crop yield parameters.
