Mr Sarfuddin Amanudin Kazi
Pillu Mashidjaval, Dharangaon
Tal: Dharangaon, Jalgaon, Maharashtra
Mr Sarfuddin Kazi, 47, was a machinist and owned a workshop where he manufactured components of stoves. His innovation ‘pumpless stove with kerosene heating’ received an award by National Innovation Foundation in 2005. Though he had little formal education, his desire to invent was very strong and his motto was, “Don’t dream, just keep on doing what you have to, things will happen. Don’t even mind the criticism.”
He was deeply pious and donated his services in making a tall lamp of 40 inches and weighing 40 kg from the bells and other metals for the local Chintamani Moraya Temple. He also made and donated a metallic decorative piece used in processions to the local Masjid. Once when a local school needed 130 benches, he made it for them at a highly concessional rate.
Sarfuddin wanted to start a commercially viable business with his innovations. To help him realise his dreams, he received some financial support from NIF and he had begun his project. We hope his family will carry on with the project and realise his dreams by diffusing his innovation.

While thousands of farmers through out Karnataka have benefited from this variety, the state horticultural department has obtained grafted materials from him. Grafting fruit trees was his hobby and his ‘Shetty Nursery’ is very popular in the locality.
In all these years, he has distributed more than one lakh gum less jackfruit (sompady jack) seedlings all over the state and also to other states like Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Andhra Pradesh.
Mr T Sony Roy

The Electronic mail informer can inform the concerned person about the receipt of an email through different modes of communication such as Phone, Printout, Computer messages, fax, cellular, pager, post or telegram. Sony was a man of action and he met with the tragic electric accident that claimed his life while experimenting with one of his innovations.
Mr Ram Naresh Yadav
Few people dedicate their whole life and invest all resources in pursuit of a mission as Mr Yadav did. He sold most of his land and other assets in pursuing design of an engine that would work through manual, bullock or electricity or other fuels. In addition to that, he discovered that the design of the piston in the engine contributed considerably to the consumption level of fuel. He conceived of a fibre glass piston so that fuel consumption could considerably come down. He used to repair watches and fabricate machines which would help society. With great difficulty, he found an entrepreneur who was willing to invest in his engine. Before he could have enjoyed the fruits of his labour, he met with a fatal accident. He was awarded by NIF and was an active member of Honey Bee Network.
