Abstract
 
Details "282360 Treatment of White grab on Groundnut Maheshbhai crushed Euphorbia species mixed with 5kg Aloe Vera and 200litre of water. The mixture is kept for 12-14 hrs and then the filtered solution is poured over the groundnut crop. He learnt this method from Chandubhai, who uses the solution of Neem oil, Cow Urine and 30 days old Buttermilk to save the crop from the white grab. Mahesh Bhai Naranbhai Dhandhaliya, Village: Takhatgarh, Block/Tehsil- Talaja, District- Bhavnagar Aloe Vera is reported to be an effective pesticide (Honey Bee, 8(3):12, 1997; 9(2):7, 1998). Euphorbia species are said to be an effective fertilizer (Honey Bee 8(2): 14, 1997) and can be used for termite control (Honey Bee 8(2): 14, 1997). Cow urine (Gau Mutra) is effective for various pharmacological and agricultural uses (HB, 3(1):15, 1992; HB, 2(1):18, 1991; 3(1):14, 1992; 8(2): 7, 1997) 282361 Bitter Gourd to control Heliothis Bhurabhai Thakur prepared the mixture of stem of the Bitter Gourd plant (3kg) and tobacco (100-200g) with 10litres of water and kept it for two days. The solution was further diluted with water helps to prevent Heliothis from destroying the vegetation. The process needs to be repeated after a week and results will be visible. The filtered solution is diluted with water and then sprayed over the crop. Vishnubhai Velabhai Chaudhari, Village: Khata Amba, District: Gandhinagar Growing sunflower with mango trees helps increase the yield of the mangoes. The Honeybee attracted to the sunflower also rest on the fruit, hence promoting cross-pollination (HB, 12(3):12, 2001) Other than that, it can also be used as fertilizers (HB, 17(1) & (2): 36, 2006). Ipomea is reported as an effective insecticide and pesticide (HB, 3(2):17, 1992; 18(2):17, 2006; 23(3) 5-7, 2012). Also, it helps increase the efficiency and shell life of the plant (HB 25(4) & 26(1) 10-25, 2014-2015 (25 years celebration). 282363 Controlling Spread of Disease in Poultry Farms Reshamben Bariya uses the pulp of cactus stem (after removing thorns) mixed with water to control diseases in poultry farm that lessens their productivity. The solution is fed to the hens daily. Reshamben Naginbhai Bariya, Village: - Deogarh bariya, District: -Dahod Scout: Anil Sutariya Shetty A. Rana M. and Prretham S. (JSFT. 49(5):530-536. 2012) did an extensive study on the various uses of cactus and concluded it to be a health stimulant, alternate fodder for cattle, used for the preparation of jams and syrups and other industrial uses. Cactus is also reported as an alternative fodder (HB, 4(1):16, 1993; 9(1):9, 1998) and other veterinary uses (HB, 5(3):14, 1994; 6(3):14, 1995; 6(4):10, 1995). "
