Details ". 282336 Automatic Street Light System It is often noticed that the street lights are switched on even during daytime. This causes unnecessary loss of energy. As a solution to this, Mupparapu Raju developed an Automatic Street Light Control System which automatically turns on/off the street lights at 6pm and 6am respectively. On/off time can be reset as per the local conditions. Till date, Raju has successfully installed the Automatic Street Light Control System in 26 industries, 10 villages and one Municipality. He sells it for Rs. 3500/- only. Mupparapu Raju, District: Warangal, Telangana Gouthami et al. (IJETT. 35(10): 465-470. 2010) from Electrical Engineering background designed a similar model using micro-controller ‘ATmega8’. A number of similar projects have been undertaken. But it commendable how Raju managed to develop it with least possible expertise. For more such innovations, refer to HB, 17(4),2006; 18(1):2007. 282337 Borewell Rescue Kit A number of cases have been reported where children have accidentally fallen into borewells, this causes them serious injuries and if not rescued on time, it may also lead to loss of life. There are various rescue techniques being practiced but are reported to be time-consuming. Babu designed a Rescue Kit to facilitate timely rescue. This kit consists of torchlight, small camera and an oxygen pipe. The kit is inserted in the borewell pipe. The camera in the kit is connected to a laptop which facilitates the operator to identify the position of the child and accordingly, a hook is dropped. The dropped hook is clutched to the child and slowly pulled up. During the entire activity, the oxygen pipe is placed near the child for convenience in breathing. Aripaka Ramesh Babu, Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh Simon et al. (IRJET, 3(3):140-144. 2016) conducted a study and proposed a borewell rescue robot. Similarly, Dalal R. et.al. (IJRET. 4(2), 198-207. 2015) too had proposed a similar mechanics to rescue children, fallen into borewell. 282338 An Effective Gas Oven for Small Entrepreneurs Nagabhushanam developed a cost-effective baking oven which could be used on gas stoves or bamboo wooden stoves in households. It is capable of baking 16- 20 biscuits in 10minutes. The temperature in the gas oven can be managed accordingly by flipping the flap in an up-down motion which restricts the heat. It only weighs 7.5kgs and is easily portable. Nagabhushanm also modified his bike into a mobile oven. The oven has helped the unemployed and the housewives to start their own bakeries with least possible investment, thus encouraging entrepreneurship and women empowerment. Chidipi Nagabhushanam, Munikodali, Sitanagaram, Rajamundry Rural, West Godavari District There are a number of electric ovens available in the market which are highly priced. No trace of gas based ovens were found in the Indian market. Commercial ovens generally cost about a lakh or more. The Gas oven by Nagabhushanam costs Rs 5,500/- to Rs 22,000/-, based on its size and utility. These ovens are easily portable and can be used for commercial purpose. 282339 Mini Boom Sprayer- A Collaboratively Developed Device by Farmers and Innovator It is a cost-effective and convenient solution to the difficulties faced by farmers during spraying. It is a twowheel rickshaw with a drum that could hold water up to 50litres. Attached to it is the eight nozzles’ sprayer. It requires 12volts battery to function on and could be used for eight hours continuously. The front of the sprayer is inducted with a set up that would allow a person to manually pull the rickshaw with ease. Also, a switch is provided for the driver to operate the sprayer. The sprayer is designed in a manner that it doesn’t require much force to pull even with a 50 litres drum attached. With the eight Nozzles, eight rows of crops can be sprayed at once. This saves a lot of time. About 25 feet width gets covered by the sprayer. The equipment only requires two people, one to supervise/ monitor the process from the back and the second to pull the sprayer. About one hectare of land can be sprayed in only one hour with the Mini Boom Sprayer. Syed Subani and Satyanarayana, Guntur Arun M Balamatti And B. Sundaraswamy, designed an economical sprinkler system to cover 140feet radius and made further modifications in sprinklers and sprayers. (HB, 8(4):5-6, 1997); other innovations for sprayers and sprinklers can be found at HB, 12(3):6&9, 2001. 282340 Mullapudi Mini Tiller Mullapudi Satyanarayana innovated the tilling tool which can be effectively used on any type of soil. It consists of three gears and a load gear. The loading gear is applied based on the strength of the soil to be tilled and the load applied. The machine consists of a clutch which controls the speed by controlling rpm. The replaceable rotator blades which till the land are available in different widths ranging from 16 to 30inches. The special feature of the tiller is that for the cultivation of wet lands, iron wheels can be fixed adjacent to the tyers without removing them. The wheel base can be adjusted from 16 to 24 inches according to the need of the crop and soil and type of operation. Moreover, it is easily portable. Mullapudi Satyanarayana, District: Khammam, Telangana 282341 Multipurpose Drum Seeder The multi-purpose drum seeder solely performs five major operations. It runs on three iron wheels and is two meters wide. Seven pegs are fixed for furrowing. two drums are placed above - one for seeds and the other for spraying herbicide. There is also a facility for dropping fertilizer along with the seeds. The estimated price of the drum seeder is Rs 30,000/- and Babu Rao assures its delivery within 15 days of placing order Damarashingi Baburao, Village Parvathipuram, District: Vijayanagaram, Andhra Pradesh 282342 Weed Labour Mitra Alladi Prabhakar designed a new tool for removing weeds in crops. It has three stakes and a weeding sickle attached to it due to which the farmers can conveniently remove any kind of weed. The tool is functional even around the younger crops. It costs Rs. 250/- each. Alladi Prabhakar, Metpally, District: Jagityala 282343 Vessel Washing Machine Shanmukha Rao has designed a cost-effective machine with minimal water and soap wastage for cleaning dishes. The complete apparatus is made of stainless steel and costs Rs 5000/-. He believes if the same is designed with plastic the cost will reduce even more. He also claims that the machine could clean any kind of oil stains or grease off the vessels with minimal consumption of electricity, water and soap, thus making the job easier for all women who struggle to do this daily chore. There are many dish-washing machines available in the market, which range between the range from 20,000 rupees to 50,000. Shanmukha Rao, Village Kambalapalli, District: Mahabubabad, Telangana "
