The innovator has tried his hand in various occupations such as farming, carpentry, construction, farming, etc. After graduating from junior middle school, he began to work as a builder at a construction site in Beijing. He has been interested in creating new things since his childhood. While working on stoves, he found that the old-fashioned stoves not only make kitchens smoky but also waste resources. He started developing some kind of switch system for the stove. There were many instances when he got burnt, received electric shocks but he never gave up. He finally succeeded in 2006 and obtained a patent in October, the same year. He was called a “farmer inventor” by the villagers.
The innovation has automatic switches on this stove. A photoelectric sensor system is installed in them through which the stoves could be turned on or off automatically, according to its distance from the chef. When the chef leaves the stove to do some other work, it turns off automatically. It turns on when he comes close to it. With regard to the cost, this innovation has basically three variants priced at 15,000 Yuan, 20,000Yuan, 25,000Yuan, respectively according to the materials used.
It not only saves time and fuel but also keeps the temperature in kitchen comparatively cooler. Besides, it claims to reduce emissions of CO2 and SO2 as well (we don’t have enough information about the way this is achieved:Eds).
A student from Karnataka, Davalsab Ladammanavar, had devised a somewhat similar auto-stopper for LPG gas stoves. The difference lies in the timer being used by Davalsab and photo-electric sensor used by Jianliang.
