Details |
Nalakathu is a traditional paddy farmer. Due to serious labour shortage and problems in his area for paddy farms, he felt the need of a low cost paddy winnower and developed it from his experience. The paddy winnowers available in the market are more costly, hence not affordable for small farmers. They lack mobility, require more man power and lead to inhaling of a lot of dust. The innovative Haritha Mithra paddy winnower is portable, easily mobile and costs Rs. 4000; it works on half hp electric motor and winnows 800 kg rice per hour. It consumes only one unit electricity in two and a half hours.
