Rubber tapping is a job that requires specific skills. The tapping knives available in the market have many shortcomings. Saju developed a rubber tapping knife by combining the advantages and rectifying the disadvantages of two types of rubber tapping knives available in the market; V-shaped tapping knife and Jebong knife available in the market. The innovative knife consists of a detachable blade attached to a flat iron piece and wooden handle with pulling and pushing operation. The blade is flexible and enables the user to set a convenient angle while tapping rubber. It reduces drudgery and demands less maintenance. As thin shavings of barks are removed, there is no harm to the wood. It costs Rs. 120. The innovator has got it patented. |
