Abstract |
Neem bark is reported as a general health promoter by Kaushik Biswas et. al. (2002); Current Science; 82(11): 1336-1345. The usefulness of fruit and root of Piper longum in anorexia is reported by Shiddamallayya et. al. (2010); Indian Journal of Traditional Knowledge; 9(1): 96-99. |

Details |
Anorexia affected animals are generally off feed, look dull and inactive, and there is lack of rumination. Putma and Anil grind 50 g each of neem bark (Azadirachta indica A. Juss), nila mustai leaves (Cissampelos pareira L.), black pepper, garlic bulb, ginger and thippili (Piper longum L.) into a paste using a little amount of water. This paste is fed twice a day till the animal gets completely cured. The affected animal starts feeding thereafter.
