Details Innovation is a slow and gradual process. Every artisan improves the design, structure and layout of the implement by his own thinking or from feedback of farmers. Even samll coulters cannot escape from this process. Farmers were using coulter like a long strip for sowing but they faced problems of uncovering of seeds because of opening of wider furrow than required. Artisans thought seriously about this problem and developed a slightly changed coulter by reducing the width fromthe middle to the upward end, solved the problem to some extent. After receving positive feedback from farmers once again a typical rounded shape coulter was made by reduing width of coulter, the shape is like the leaf of bettle vine at the top portion. The seed tube is adjusted in the hole of the leaf-shape top of the coulter. Dut to this, the furro does not open excessively from the top and is covered firmly with the help of main frame of `Santi'.
