To Attract or Repel? |

There was a butterfly who always wondered why some flowers were more beautiful than others? Why did some flowers invite bees and butterflies while others did not care? She was not sure as to whether some of the latter kinds were arrogant, indifferent and self-possessed. One day, when she could not withstand this behaviour any longer, she went to a flower growing on cactus and asked: “Why don’t you try to attract bees or butterflies?” The flower said: “Look, attraction or addition is not the only way in which nature regenerates itself. Wind, rain, storms; all of them help in spreading its pollen. Why would I bother about bees only, which command their own price for being useful? Butterfly was not happy with this reply though she could understand the reason for smugness. She went to the wind queen and asked: “Is it true that you help such smug flowers to regenerate who do not even have the courtesy towards bees?” Wind had a loud laughter and wings of butterfly started twittering hard, because she had to work harder to remain afloat in the air. Wind said: “In this world, creativity does not grow only through attractions but also through repulsions. That is why wild flowers shatter and spread their seeds afar, while domesticated flowers keep their seeds to themselves. Which ones are more arrogant, the ones who shared their seeds or the ones which keep them with themselves?”
Butterfly was flabbergasted, she was not sure still.
