Kautam Rajamallu follows the application of neem extract with visha mushti (Strychnos nux-vomica L.) extract to control pests in cotton. During the flowering time of cotton crop, he sprays neem extract thrice within a span of 20 days and visha mushti concoction once or twice within next 20 days.
For neem extract: Neem fruit is crushed completely and soaked over night. The next morning the juice is extracted from the soaked fruit. For three kg fruit juice, half kg washing powder should be mixed to spray on one acre of crop.
For visha mushti extract: For one acre crop, five kg of visha mushti fruits are powdered and then boiled in hot water till five litres water is reduced to approximately two litres. Then half kg washing powder is added to it before spraying on the crop. Visha mushti fruits are very poisonous so care should be taken while applying. |
