Title Developing seedlings in nursery, using sand

Details It is a challenging task to prepare seedling plant in several vegetables like cabbage, cauliflower, papaya, chilli, brinjal. Vinodbhai, an innovative farmer, did his own experiment and came out with very good results and hence he wants to share this with other farmers so that everyone can reap the benefits. He filled the land with the organic fertilizers and levelled the surface. Then he made pit lines of half or one inch by his fingers and sowed the seeds into them. Then he spread a thin layer of sand on the seeds and mildly rubbed them with his hands. The sprout came out easily and much faster. Using this technique, he says that one can get the sprouts five days earlier than other systems, and owing to the sandy soil it has another benefit; the seedlings can be uprooted easily without causing much damage to the roots.
