(2009). Studies on antivenom activity of Andrographis paniculata and Aristolochia indica plant extracts against Daboia russelli venom by in vivo and in vitro methods.Indian Journal of Science and Technology, 2(4), 76-79.) 27107 For treatment of fever in animalsParvathi grinds a handful of kundumani (Abrus precatorius) leaves and two bulbs of garlic (Allium sativum) and squeezes the extract to be put in the nostrils of animals. S Parvathi, H/o S. Chinnaswami, Molapparai, Poolampatti Post, Taluka: Edaipadi, District Salem.Scout: C Janani, IV, BSc Agri, AC & RI MDU. Antibacterial activity of different part of Abrus precatorius(leaves, seeds and roots)is reported against Staphylococcus aureus, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Salmonella typhi, Salmonellaparatyphi A, Salmonella paratyphi B, Escherichia coli and Klebsiella pneumonia. (Mistry at al. (2010) Determination of antibacterial activity and MIC of crude extract of Abrus precatorius L. Adv Biotech, 1, 10-2.) 27108 Treatment for anorexia, tympany, diarrhoeaFor treating anorexia in cattle, Kuppusamy grinds the leaves of Kundumani (Abrus precatorius), Vedathalai (Dichrostachys cinerea), pepper, garlic and fruits of capsicum. He mixes hot water to the paste and puts a few drops of the solution into nostril of the ailing animal. It improves appetite of the animal and helps to regain strength and agility.
