Abstract |
The causal organism of the disease is mainly Staphylococus aureus. All the plants used in the formulation exhibit antibacterial activity against various bacteria including Staphylococus aureus . Details |
Mastitis is a disease that commonly occurs in cows in which the udder of the animal swells, which later leads to hardening of the part. By the time allopathic medicines show effect (if used), sometimes the udder gets damaged. This results in low milk production and ultimately the ailing cow becomes weak. Mathew’s cow suffered from this disease many years back and he experimented with some herbs. He formulated a herbal oil for the ailment using mustard (Brassica juncea L.) oil, neem (Azadirachta indica A. Juss.) oil, bark of moringa (Moringa oleifera Lam.), fenugreek (Trigonella foenum-graecum L.) and citrus
fruits. It cures the disease in three to four days. Many people in his locality use the oil and consider it to be effective.
