A local herb, ‘Kooth’ (Saussurea costus (Falc.) Lipsch.) is used to cure acute pain of the joints. A herbal composition is made by mixing the stem of ‘kooth’ with sugar and water in appropriate quantity. This paste can be instantly applied to joints, twice a week for faster recovery.
