Elikutty Joseph has suggested a method for the treatment of rheumatism. Boil the root of Malabar Nut (Adathoda vasica Nees.), Paddy’s lucern i (Sida retusa L.), dry ginger, Cumin, tuber of Coco Grass (Cyperus rotundus L.) and Plumbago (Plumbago rosea L.), root of Honey Suckle (Hemidesmus indicus Linn.), stem of Gulanshe Tinospara (Tinospora cordifolia (Willd.) Meirs ex Hook. f.and Thoms.), tuber of Pata Root (Cyclea peltata Hk.f and Th.), Asparagus sp and Picrorhiza (Picrorhiza kurroa Benth.) in three litre of water, till it is reduced to 1/3rd. Take about a glass full of this extract, and boil it till it becomes 3 ounce. Add calcium chloride (CaCl2), and cumin, and serve to the patient.
