Title Biogas plant using human urine

Details It’s an innovative practice by a local school authorities who were facing the problem of disposal of human urine from the toilets because of lack of space. Improper disposal of urine had led to localized environmental problems like water pollution, fowl smell etc. A few women groups in the area suggested using this urine for producing biogas. They made an arrangement to collect the urine from the school toilet in a nearby tank. In the initial stage, they used both cow dung slurry and urine for producing biogas. Now the entire biogas production from the unit is by human urine. This way, they not only solved the problem of environmental pollution, but also could find a new means of meeting the energy requirements of the school and a nearby church. (Imagine all schools having such units around schools, why not? Ed)
