Is More Knowledge Always Better Than Less!! |
|
|
Details |
In all cultures, there is always a premium placed on learning more, asking question about unknown and thus accumulation of knowledge. In Kulan Kingdom, the king was a bit crazy. He somehow felt that when we try to know more, we end up doing more reflection and less action. He found that those people who did things with their hands, such as carpenters, blacksmiths, gardeners etc., had a different way of handling life’s problems. They did not get stuck with these problems. The reflecting kind of people had a tendency to know more about less. They got disconnected with each other as well with the society.
One day, he issued an order saying all those who engaged in seeking more knowledge only will have to pay a tax. There was a furore in the kingdom. Everybody criticized the king. The intellectuals complained that the kingdom will lose out to others who were seeking knowledge more and more. Kulan king did not want alienated people, and disconnected communities. He said that he wanted a change. There was a farmer who felt very amused. He said, “honourable king, you are wrong!”. Knowing more can never create disconnect in the communities. It is the act of knowing more, feeling less and doing even lesser that creates problems. You should give subsidy to those who know, feel and also do something on what they feel about”.
Kulan kingdom had a turmoil.
One of the effects of this turmoil was the birth of the Honey Bee Network. |
