Title |
Getting Rid of Intestinal Worms |
|
|
Details |
To cure intestinal worms of an animal, ground some leaves of ‘aduthinnapalai’ (Aristolochia bracteolata Lam.), seeds of ‘murungai’ (Moringa oleifera Lam.) and seeds of bitter gourd (Lagenaria siceraria (Molina.) Standl.). Make a bolus of the powdered ingredients and give it to the animal on empty stomach in the morning. After this, feeding the animal once with ‘ragi’ (Eleusine coracana L.) gruel cooked with dried ginger, ‘thippili’ (Piper nigrum L.) and pepper (Piper longum L.), mixed with castor oil will help eliminate the intestinal worms.
(Deworming the cattle using Aristolochia bracteoleta: HB 8(2): 9, 1997; moringa is believed to be anthelmintic, http://www.churchworldservice.org/moringa/TMTmeds.html) |
