Title Dealing with Diarrhea

Details Nachi Muthu Gounder has developed a new practice to treat animals suffering from diarrhea. He prepares a mixture of a handful of ‘veliparuthi’ (Pergularia daemia (Forsk.) Chiov.), 25 peppers (Piper nigrum L.) and two bell peppers (Capsicum annuum L.). He puts the mixture in hot water and later boils it. Giving this decoction (orally) only once to the affected animal cures diarrhea. Pepper has been reported for curing diarrhea (http://www.pepperindia.com/useofpepper.htm; with kelp, http://www.health911.com/remedies/rem_diar.htm, also see HB 8(2): 9, 1997) Nachimuthu Gounder also is a livestock keeper. He rears Bargur Semmaria, an indigenous hill cattle breed known for organic manure. From his herd of 150 cattle, he gets no less then 6 tonnes of manure every month. He takes the cattle in the forest area for grazing while he feeds the calves with gana grass, johnsongrass (Sorghum halepense (L.) Pers.) etc. He is 63 years old and has been practicing many traditional animal healing processes for a long time..
