Title Treating green diarrhoea in children

Details Green diarrhoea occurs mostly in children. It is painful and makes the children hidebound. In villages green diarrhoea is treated effectively with the help of a local plant. People take 8 to 10 leaves of a plant locally named as “Paladhua”. A paste is prepared out of “Paladhua” (Erythrina indica ) and mixed with rice-washed water. Raw rice is first washed with clean drinking water. This water is allowed to settle down for some time. The top portion of water is taken and mixed with “Paladhua” leaf paste and fed to the children. One spoon of the mixture three times a day would stop diarrhoea within 24 hours. Erythrina indica is reported to by used for the purpose in India as well as Sri lanka (Ed.) http://www.lankachronicle.com/health_medicine.html, - www.goacom.com/goafoundation/biodiversity/annexure1.htm Dr. Ramesh Ch.
