Abstract

Details "Organic manure Mahavirsingh Juwan Singh Jadeja Kumbhardi, Near Bhavesar Temple, Taluka : Bhachau, Bhuj, Gujarat. Mahavir Singh is an organic farmer. His innovative mixture of Millet flour (bajri) with Neem leaves (Azadirachta indica), Rubber bush leaves (Calotropis procera), cow urine, cow dung and organic jaggery in proportions of 3 kg, 10kg, 10kg, 10 litres, 10kg, and 10 kg respectively has got very good results after applying the above fermented mixture for a fortnight. Before applying to the crop this mixture must be diluted to approximately 200 litres. This has done wonders for his crop production He dilutes this mix to approximately 200 litres and leaves it to ferment for a fortnight with occasional stirring. The prepared solution is dripped into the added irrigation channels. It increases crop productivity and decreases infestation of disease causing microbes in the soil. Organic manure sustains the overall crop and soil health effectively Treating diarrhoea with banana stem juice Khimji Ganeshbhai Rusiya, Vaamka, Taluka : Bhachau, Bhuj, District Kutch, Gujarat Khimjibhai, a herbal healer owns a cow and a buffalo. Despite being handicapped, he is deeply interested in treating diseased animals. He is well known in and around his village for effectively treating diseases like Dystocia, Fracture, and Prolapse. He treats the ailing animals out of compassion and not for commercial gains. Diarrhoea is common disease among cattle and occurs due to overfeeding of green fodder, consumption of rotten greens, and due to abdominal disorders. Khimjibhai uses extracts of the stem juice of bananas as cure. 100-150 ml juice of banana pseudo stem is extracted and fed to the diseased animal for two days initially. The treatment period may be extended till the animal is cured. This practice has been passed down to his family for several generations by his ancestors. Treatment of Kaaliya diseases in cumin Natubhai Gelubha Jadeja Kabrao Bhachau, District Kutch Bhuj, Gujarat Wilting of plant and lack of seed setting in cumin (Cuminum cyminum) crop are the two major symptoms of Kaaliyaa disease. Natubhai uses a unique herbal method to rein in the disease. He prepares a solution of custard apple leaves by soaking 10 kg leaves in 25 litres of water and boils it till it is reduced to half. After cooling the extract is mixed with three to four spoons of detergent powder. Spraying of this detergent based solution reportedly results in a healthier crop and controls wilt attack. "
