Details "Smart Glasses for Blind People Naitik Srivastava (Class IX) Raebareli, Uttar Pradesh Naitik wanted to create smart glasses to help visually- impaired persons walk, read, and recognise their loved ones with ease. He has integrated technology for facial recognition, text recognition, and distance measuring. The wearer can save their friends and family on a database, which the glasses access. A voice assistant will inform the wearer when a know face is standing before them, or if a person’s identification isn’t recorded in the database, it will be reported as unknown. Additionally, when a text is placed in front of this device, it will read it over the speaker. It also calls out the distance between the person and the obstacle. Lighting Manhole Cap Thati Bhavana (Class IX) Mahbubnagar, Telangana Thati observed that during floods, manhole covers would often get damaged. The many open manholes on the city’s busy roads posed a severe risk to commuters and pedestrians. She saw a solution in making the Lighting Manhole Cap. Powered by solar energy, a red light will glow when manholes are open, and when they are closed, the light turns green. It also sounds an alarm sound to prevent accidents. Multipurpose Catering Equipment Yash Dnyaneshwar Shinde (Class IX) Satara, Maharashtra When the world plunged into the COVID-19 pandemic, it became necessary to maintain social distancing and minimize contact. Yash saw an opportunity to provide a solution for catered offices and canteens by creating a machine that distributes and collects plates without any human contact. The multipurpose catering machine places a plate at a uniform distance on the table and collects it in a box below. It does not require any fuel or energy and is operated manually through a push. It was designed to maintain safety and hygiene of the people involved in the catering system. Smart Knife for Slicing or Chopping an Onion Omkar Anil Shinde (Class VI) Beed, Maharashtra Slicing an onion releases sulfur compounds in the air, irritating the eyes. Omkar noticed his mother faced this problem daily. He devised a fan attachment. which is easily installed on any knife. The fan blows the sulphur gases in the opposite direction (towards the onion). Date Seed Extractor Yash Jalindar Chougule (Class VIII) Kolhapur, Maharashtra Date seeds are difficult to separate from the sticky flesh. Elders are often prescribed dates, which give numerous health benefits. Yash’s date seed extractor works by pulling a lever down to remove the core of four dates at a time. It does not require energy and has no recurring costs. Mobility Aid for Disable Keethi Patel (Class XII) Bangalore Urban, Karnataka Keethi has modified a w h e e l c h a i r for physically c h a l l e n g e d children. With the roleter incorporated into the wheelchair, this is a hybridised and compact mobility aid. A child can sit in it and travel forward and backward by rolling the wheel with their hands. The child can separate the roleter from the wheelchair and manage it whenever he wishes to stand and walk independently. This device is lightweight, easy to repair, and inexpensive. "
