Long, lustrous and well matured fruits of the brinjal (Solanum melongana) and okra (Ablemoschus esculentus) are selected from the standing crop. A vertical cross-section is made in them and ash is inserted. Whole fruit along with the seeds is preserved till the next year or the growing season. Ash is very widely used for covering seeds. |
