Painted grasshopper pests attack the maize crop in its early stage. Parasites such as striga and diseasse like leaf curl virus also attack the leaves and ear causing great damage. Generally these pests attack during monsoon. Juice of two to three kg peeled onions(after dilution) is sprayedon one 'bigha'(0.24 ha)field to control these pests |
