Abstract Approximately 1 to 1.5 kg lime is dissolved in 2-3 litres of whey milk and sufficient quantity of water. Resulted suspension is sprayed over the infested cabbage crop to control larval pest.

Details Cabbage is grown as a vegetable crop in the irrigated areas of Central Gujarat. Infestation of larval insect pest is noticed by seeing black coloured dirty excreta near the stem of plant and leaf canopy. It affects the crop growth and production. This pest eats leaves and makes a sieve like structure. Approximately 1 to 1.5 kg lime which is used for white wash is dissolved in 2-3 litres of whey milk and sufficient quantity of water. Resulted suspension is filtered through cotton cloth and sprinkled over the infested crop either by broom or sprayer. About 2-3 sprays are carried out 5-6 days interval to control this pest.
