Jamalbhai Nurabhai Modi of Banaskantha uses gandhati (Lantana camara L.), tobacco and fruit of garmalo (Cassia fistula L.) to control pests in paddy and mung crops. For making two liters of the formulation, he mixes 200 gm leaves of Lantana camara (with their floral part), 200 gm root of tobacco, and 200 gm fruits of Cassia fistula in 3 lit of water, boils it till it becomes two-third of its initial volume. The resultant formulation is then diluted with water and sprayed on the crop.
